This role includes overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, all while ensuring strict compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in project accounting, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with project managers and stakeholders.About the RolePrepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reportsMonitor project costs and ensure adherence to budgetary constraintsAnalyze variances between budgeted and actual costs, providing insights for corrective actionsAccounting Functions:Process project-related invoices, ensuring timely and accurate paymentsOversee the reconciliation of project accounts and resolve discrepanciesMaintain accurate project accounting records in compliance with GAAPReporting:Generate regular financial reports for project managers and senior managementProvide financial analysis to support decision-making and project planningAssist in the preparation of financial statements related to projectsWork closely with project managers to understand project financial needs and requirementsProvide training and guidance to junior accounting staff as neededParticipate in project meetings to provide financial insights and updatesCompliance and Audit:Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policiesAssist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanationsStay up-to-date on changes in accounting regulations that may affect project accountingMonitor AR mailboxes and distribute/respond to emails as neededTrack customer collections activity and correspondenceAssist accounting department and executive leadership team with tasks when neededPerform other duties as assignedProfessional QualificationsMaster's degree in finance or accountingQualified CPA/CMA/CA or its equivalent qualifications (preferable)Experience12 to 15+ years of experience in accounting or similar fieldVery good in Microsoft Advanced ExcelExperience in ERP preferable Microsoft Dynamic 360 CentralFinance and accounting experience with similar size organisationsCorporate finance with exposure to mergers, acquisitions, and joint venturesExcellent analytical abilityStrategic thinking and problem-solving analysisDetail-oriented, efficient, and organisedResponds well in fast-paced, high-pressure environmentExcellent knowledge of advanced MS-ExcelWorking knowledge of finance systems and softwareExperience of capital raising activities and investment managementExperience in investment banking is advantageousKnowledge of IFRS accounting standards and local government complianceThis is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled and motivated team and continue to grow your career.
