We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Project Manager to join Sydney Water's Procurement and Supply Chain team on a 12-month contract. This key role requires a strong background in Procurement/Category Management to lead the Shared Purchasing v3.0 project, collaborating with internal stakeholders and our three Regional Delivery Partners (RDPs). The Shared Purchasing initiative, central to achieving the goals of the Partnering For Success (P4 S) model, is now in its third iteration. The position holder will develop, implement, and oversee a business-aligned project plan, managing procurement and sourcing activities to ensure value, service, compliance, and Procurement best practice. Success in this role will require a hands-on approach to executing key tasks and establishing clear, transparent processes and reporting. Your role will involve: Facilitating the development of long-term strategy for Shared Purchasing, and operational planning in line with the overall direction and objectives of the Sydney Water Business Units. Seeking to identify opportunities for improvement across business units and RDPs by facilitating innovation in supply and increasing procurement maturity across Sydney Water, through the Shared Purchasing project plan. Partnering with the business to develop and implement Corporation-Wide category and contract strategies to effectively manage the risk of externally sourced goods and services, develop alternate sources of supply, drive commercial benefit, and develop the supplier base. Leveraging RDPs and Major Project volumes to enhance Sydney Water's buying power in goods and services, unlocking value from the supplier base and managing Shared Purchasing procurement processes effectively. What You'll Bring: Relevant degree qualification (e.g. Engineering, Business, Project Management, Supply Chain) or experience deemed equivalent. 7+ years' Project or Program management experience including experience in Procurement/Category Management in a large complex organisation, preferably in a similar organisation or industry sector. Demonstrated experience in collaboration to develop effective category and procurement strategies, lead commercial negotiations and manage contracts across the lifecycle.
