Join Queensland Health as a Senior Privacy Officer! Reporting to the Principal Privacy Officer, you will ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations, playing a crucial role in maintaining confidentiality and upholding statutory obligations.
In this vital role reporting directly to the Principal Privacy Officer, you will play a key part in ensuring our compliance with the Information Privacy Act 2009, Part 7 of the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011, and associated regulations. Your expertise will be instrumental in upholding our commitment to privacy and confidentiality while navigating complex statutory obligations within dynamic healthcare environments. Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Contribute to the formulation and execution of departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines concerning privacy, drawing from both regulatory mandates and industry best practices.Assist in the identification, refinement, and implementation of processes and standards aimed at guaranteeing the Department's adherence to compliance obligations.Oversee the handling and reporting of information privacy issues, including complaints and breaches, collaborating with pertinent stakeholders such as the Office of the Information Commissioner.The successful person You will have demonstrated:
Experience in administering legislation with the capability to handle complex decision-making processes.Strong verbal and written communication skills, showcasing proficiency in negotiation and problem-solving.Comprehensive understanding of teamwork principles and excels in functioning as a team member and leader within diverse settings.Skills in managing demanding workloads with numerous competing deadlines, handling complexity efficiently.About us The Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland.
