The Senior Planner is responsible for managing the development, reporting and maintenance of technical information and schedules in line with project budgets and contract requirements.
This position is accountable for the development of a Planning/scheduling team to successfully deliver planning & scheduling requirements and foster a continuous improvement, productive and efficient culture with multi-functional and nationally dispersed resource groups.
This is a 24 month fixed term position and can be located in any major centre (Queensland). This is a Professional & Managerial Grade Three level position with salaries starting from $200k + 14.75% super on a ten-day fortnight.
Some of your responsibilities include:
Provide expert planning, commercial and related advice to Yurika project teams or contracted staff to assist the team to ensure that assigned projects are commercially and financially compliant. Accountable to reflect scheduled units and quantities to budgets, identifying earned value and burn rates to meet commercial objectives. Lead and manage project and resource schedule development, regular progress updates, look ahead programs, critical path and longest path analysis and value earned reports utilising the required format ie P6 and or/MS Project. Lead site inspections and collaborate with field staff and construction supervision to assess works complete, sequence adjustments and schedule logic and detail updates. Develop and maintain governance framework for project planning and forecast for project delivery. Proactively work with contract managers, commercial and financial team members in development of impacted schedule analysis to support claims and financial impact forecasting. Identify and escalate schedule related matters that impact time, cost, scope, and resourcing to the relevant internal stakeholder, and work with stakeholder for best resolution outcome. Pro-actively manage planning related risk and perform risk reviews to identify issues that will affect project outcomes and develop risk management plans to mitigate the risk. Communicate risk profile to senior management through reporting and project reviews. Collaborate effectively managing information and confidentiality requirements across Energy Queensland Limited in accordance with applicable ring-fencing parameters. Demonstrate a personal commitment to health, safety and environment and support a diverse and inclusive workplace. Comply with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and practices. About you
You demonstrate commercial / industry experience managing large infrastructure fixed price contracted projects in the contestable market nationally with firm contractual terms and conditions with liquidated damages.
You demonstrate the ability to develop, prepare, maintain, and manage all forms of project schedules.
You demonstrate the ability to develop a schedule from conception, along with manage in flight schedules ensuring planned units align with estimated quantum.
You have strong interpersonal, negotiation, presentation and written skills that will build trust with internal and external stakeholders.
You have a proven ability to prioritise and coordinate own work and that of peers to meet required outcomes.
You role model teamwork using effective relationship management and influencing skills that result in collaboration with peers to drive overall success.
You are a Primavera 6 and Microsoft Project superuser and previous experience in leading a diverse team.
Essentials Degree qualifications in Project Management, Construction Management or Engineering and/or equivalent relevant experience.
