Senior People Partner – Business Lead

Mercer Super has grown significantly, now supporting more than 850,000 members to achieve a brighter future. The Senior People Partner Mercer Super is a newly created role and will be a key appointment in the People Function focussed on enabling the priorities of the business.

As a member of the Mercer Super Executive Team, and the People Leadership Team, this role will provide trusted advisory support to the CEO Mercer Super and their executive team, collaborating with other colleagues in the team to bring the full portfolio of the People Function to life.

This isn't your average strategic people partner role in a few important ways. First, this role will act as the Business Lead for several key deliverables as part of Mercer Super's risk transformation. Second, given the regulated nature of the Mercer Super business this role will also work closely to ensure the People Function roles and responsibilities are delivered on. Finally, the role will play a key leadership role across the People Function to ensure Mercer Super's risk transformation and other programs around regulatory change have a key conduit by which to engage the function.

Key for the successful candidate will be the ability to play these many roles seamlessly and within a global matrix environment, while also ensuring deliverables are met in line with endorsed delivery plans.

We will count on you to:

Deliver on a people agenda in line with the Pacific people strategy and priorities, that meets the needs of the Mercer Super business and its stakeholders.

Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO Mercer Super and their executive team, providing strong coaching and counsel where required and leveraging the rest of the people function as appropriate.

Collaborate with colleagues in other risk transformation streams to ensure awareness and alignment of deliverables in flight.

Act as the key conduit of operational matters coming out of the risk transformation program where the People Function will have a role to play in implement and/or embed.

Navigate the right balance of leveraging existing frameworks, tools and processes from across Mercer, or the broader Marsh McLennan, to bespoke requirements of the Mercer Super business.

Work closely with the rest of the People function, including global colleagues, to ensure we fulfill our roles and responsibilities against new or uplifted requirements coming from the risk transformation program.

Prepare and present materials to various senior stakeholder forums, including boards and committees.

Facilitate specific people processes across the Mercer Super business, and for regulated roles across the enterprise, working in partnership with other people partners and COE colleagues.

What you need to have:

Strong experience in HR Business Partnering, coaching senior/executive leaders.

Experience in transformation, remediation or regulatory change programs, preferably within a financial services context.

Experience implementing a significant change in a complex business and a proven ability to provide effective guidance and support to Executives.

Experience working within a global matrix environment.

Experience in engaging and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, including program sponsors, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams. This includes managing stakeholder expectations, communicating project updates, and addressing concerns or issues raised by stakeholders.

Strong organizational design experience.

Project Management/Delivery experience.

Excellent change and communication skills, structured execution of organisational change.

Excellent time management skills.

Strong business acumen.

Self-motivation with initiative, energy and drive to succeed.

Flexible approach, thriving on change and innovation, balanced by attention to detail, risk management and structured thinking.
