The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the CSO to drive the product pipeline development in immune cell therapies. The position involves a hands-on role in gene editing and other R&D initiatives, overseeing key projects, and fostering a culture of innovation and delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect and manage all molecular biology operations, ensuring alignment with the company's R&D projects portfolio.Setting the strategic direction for R&D activities, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives.Driving innovation and identifying new opportunities for research and development.Leading and mentoring a team of scientists and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.Recruiting, training and retaining top talent to ensure the R&D team is skilled and motivated.Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including academic institutions, research organisations and industry partners.Ensuring that all R&D activities comply with ethical guidelines and industry standards.Being involved in the process of patent filing to secure protection for novel discoveries and technologies.Working closely with IP team to support new IP positions, licensing agreements and any potential IP disputes.Continuously improving R&D processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Implementing new technologies and tools to advance research capabilities.Staying informed about the latest scientific advancements and industry trends.Taking personal responsibility for the success and ethical conduct of the R&D operations.Experience and QualificationsPhD in Molecular Biology, Immunology or a related field with extensive postdoctoral research experience in academia and/or industry.6+ years of hands-on experience in molecular biology, with a proven track record in experimental design, execution and troubleshooting.Extensive expertise in molecular biology techniques essential for cellular therapy, including, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, DNA/RNA construct design and lentivirus production.Proficiency in cell culture and cellular assays, including working with primary cells and cell lines, particularly immune cells.Published research in high-impact journals and a demonstrated ability to contribute to scientific advancements in molecular biology and immunology.Leadership and mentoring skills for guiding a team of scientists, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex data and integrate findings into strategic goals.Familiarity with intellectual property laws, patent processes, and IP protection strategies, particularly in biotechnology, is highly advantageous.We work to the Values of:Accountability: Our employees must be self-motivated and proactive.Respect: Everyone has a role to play in our success and should be recognized and respected for their contributions.Integrity: Developing new treatments requires the highest levels of honesty and adherence to strong moral principles.Teamwork: Medical product development is a team activity, requiring input from dedicated people with varied backgrounds and expertise.Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.PLEASE NOTE ONLY SHORTLISTED APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED
