For further information please visit https://www.rbg.vic.gov.au/ What You'll Do We are seeking a Horticulturist (Nursery) to support the sourcing, curation, propagation, and maintenance of plant material to enhance our living plant collections, landscape projects, and conservation efforts.
You will propagate a diverse range of plants, research and trial propagation techniques, and maintain accurate plant records to support high-quality plant production.
You will manage pest and disease control through integrated pest management principles.
In addition, you'll contribute to horticultural planning and work with other internal and external stakeholders when areas are redesigned.
Your expertise will be critical in maintaining compliance, promoting safety, and supporting RBGV's reputation for horticultural excellence.
What You'll Bring The ideal candidate will be a qualified Horticulturist with a Trade Certificate, Advanced Certificate, or relevant tertiary qualifications in Horticulture (Nursery) or a related field with demonstrated experience in a specialist plant nursery or similar environment.
You will possess in-depth knowledge of current nursery practices, plant identification, and propagation techniques, and a demonstrated history in optimising plant performance through effective pest, weed, and disease management using IPM strategies.
Strong record-keeping skills, including database management and plant performance tracking, along with a customer-focused approach to delivering excellent service, are key requirements.
