The Outback Mental Health Team is dedicated to delivering high-quality mental health services to rural and remote communities in Queensland. Our role: Through a combination of flying and driving, you will play a vital role in supporting the community by providing individual sessions for people of all ages, conducting telehealth consultations, offering training, and engaging with the community. We are in search of a highly experienced and independent clinician ready to collaborate with our high-performing team in Charleville and strengthen the local community. You will:
Undertake intake and triage processes.Complete complex holistic clinical assessments and implement recovery-focused, client-centered treatment plans.Provide culturally appropriate clinical interventions to individuals, families, and groups.Conduct regular case reviews.Plan and implement appropriate health promotion, early intervention, and prevention activities.Prepare and maintain accurate, confidential, and client records.Maintain own professional development.This position is based in Charleville and will operate on a fly-in, fly-out basis from Brisbane. You will follow a roster of 12 days on and 9 days off, with an initial contract lasting until July 2025. The RFDS will provide assistance with all travel and accommodation arrangements.
Who are we looking for?We are looking for a Senior Clinician who meets the following criteria:
Registration with AHPRA or membership of the AASW.Qualification in Psychology, Social Work (Accredited with AASW), Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing (Suitable for Mental Health credentialing).Post-graduate experience in a relevant clinical field and comprehensive evidence-based counselling skills.Demonstrated experience in brief interventions and therapeutic counselling with patients across the lifespan.Demonstrated experience and respectful understanding of cultural diversity including traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander views of health and wellness.Working with Children - Blue Card (Social Workers Only).Why Join the RFDS Outback Mental Health Team?You will be part of a supportive team of skilled professionals who are passionate about our purpose and proud of their contributions.
