The PositionWe are on the lookout for multiple Senior Medical Officers to join a rural community hospital, 110km north from Townsville along the Bruce Highway and the traditional owners are the Warakamai People. With a population of approximately 5,000 people although the town services the 11,000 people who make up the surrounds. We have multiple full-time or part-time positions available.The purpose of this position is to provide medical leadership and high-quality clinical services for hospital inpatients and outpatients as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering integrated primary and secondary health services to the Ingham community. The role of the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) is crucial in this context, providing high-quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients and clients of the health service.Health ServiceAn acute 28 bed hospital providing emergency, outpatients and inpatient care with frequent patient transfers to tertiary centres. The health service provides a level three maternity service to women in the community. The service is supported by a Midwifery Group Practice in conjunction with rural generalist obstetricians and anaesthetists with tertiary level support provided by Townsville University Hospital. It's an ideal spot for those seeking a laid-back lifestyle with access to vibrant culture and breathtaking scenery.Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme - Eligible health workers who make the move (interstate or international) will receive a $30,000 (PFT) or Pro rata (PPT) initial incentive payment followed by a further $20,000 after completion 12 months continuous service (PFT) or Pro rata (PPT) and a further $20,000 incentive payment after completion of 24 months continuous service (PFT) or Pro rata (PPT). Totalling $70,000 in incentive payments.Essential Criteria• Qualified as a medical practitioner, qualifications in speciality areas and current registration and/or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.• Fellowship of either the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) is highly desirable.• Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropiate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.• Currently enrolled with the Australian General Practice Training Program, or intention to apply to the Program within twelve months of commencement in this role.The PackageTOTAL ESTIMATED REMUNERATION UP TO $564,048 per annumBase Salary - (L13) $182,106 to (L27) $266,677Motor Vehicle Allowance $21,000 - $25,500Professional Development Allowance $21,500 Inaccessibility Incentive Allowance (category 6) * $13,800Superannuation Estimate $30,396 - $41,753Senior Medical Officers will accrue 3.6 weeks of Professional Development Leave each year, up to a maximum of 10 years accrual. 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% annual leave loading. Communication Package. Salary sacrificing for up to $17,000 grossed up taxable equivalent value. Attraction and Retention Incentive Allowance payment of 35 % of your base rate for GP SMO and 40% of your base rate for RG SMO.
