We undertake a range of design projects for an extensive private and public client base. Our core business is within Process, Mechanical, Civil and Structural Engineering design and Surveying. We utilise Autodesk design software suites along with Trimble surveying and scanning equipment to offer a comprehensive engineering and design service to our clients.Foresight has diverse expertise and a real passion for delivering the right outcomes to every project. You will work autonomously with engineers and draftspersons, assembling teams with the skillset suitable for the project at hand. Your project portfolio will have significant breadth, ranging from detailed analysis of existing systems through to greenfield design projects. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to be involved in the ongoing growth and success of the company, gaining essential business experience.Foresight's approach means that we are an agile and flexible consultancy, enabling us to pursue interesting and bespoke work opportunities that align with our skillsets and passion.Foresight services clients across Australia from its offices in Bright (Victoria) and Albury (NSW).Key Responsibilities:Work closely with clients and stakeholders to lead the design and development of mechanical and multi-disciplined systems.Conduct detailed analyses, calculations and investigations to optimize designs and ensure compliance with design requirements and relevant standards.Lead the progression of designs from concept to construction, utilising the highly experienced in-house design and engineering teams.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including client representatives, subcontractors and regulators.Prepare, develop and review design documentation, reports and compliance records.Present technical documentation, reports, and engineering designs.Manage engineering projects from inception to completion within an ISO9001 compliant framework.Lead internal and external design reviews.Attend client sites as required for equipment inspections, investigations or design development.Assist, share ideas and develop knowledge within an experienced team of Engineers and Designers.Engage with clients and all stakeholders in an open, honest and respectful manner.Provide leadership and mentorship of graduate level engineers.Qualifications and requirements:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Note related fields will be considered if a short explanation is provided in the cover letter.Professional Mechanical Engineers with current registration within Victoria is preferred. Engineers who meet the criteria for Victorian Registration (for example NER), but are yet to become registered in Victoria will also be considered.Strong academic background with an interest in mechanical design, fluid mechanics, rotating machinery.Exposure to CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.) and other relevant engineering tools, with the ability to work collaboratively with a team of designers and draftspersons.Understanding of legislative framework including Acts, Regulations, Codes and Standards relevant to mechanical design.Excellent problem investigation and analytical skills.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Ability to forge ongoing client relationships including the ability to identify, scope and cost new project opportunities.Eagerness for continued learning and growth and ability to adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment.The ability to apply existing experience and knowledge to technically complex, bespoke engineering challenges.The ability to deliver projects with autonomy, whilst utilizing the experience and skillset of the Foresight team.An excellent understanding of the real world application of engineering design and its impact on the end user.How to Apply:If you believe you are suited to this role, please forward a cover letter and resume through Seek's online application system.
