Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and optimize P25 (Project 25) communication systems for public safety, emergency services, and critical infrastructure clients. Provide technical expertise in the deployment and maintenance of P25 radio networks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Perform system upgrades, troubleshooting, and ongoing system optimization to ensure reliable operation of mission-critical communication systems. Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and vendors to develop tailored solutions for complex technical requirements. Conduct site surveys, system testing, and acceptance procedures for newly deployed P25 systems. Provide support and training to clients and junior engineers on P25 technologies and best practices. Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and standards related to P25 communication systems. Essential Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the design, implementation, and support of P25 radio communication systems. In-depth knowledge of P25 standards (Phase 1 and Phase 2) and related technologies such as trunking, encryption, and interoperability. Proven experience with P25 infrastructure, including base stations, repeaters, dispatch consoles, and network design. Strong technical understanding of RF systems, IP networking, and related technologies. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in mission-critical environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and team members. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment. Desirable Skills: Certifications in P25 or related technical areas (e.g., Motorola, Tait Communications). Familiarity with public safety network standards and regulatory frameworks in Australia. Experience with system integration and project management.
