We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer to oversee and lead commissioning activities for Transmission, Distribution, and Substation projects. The role requires a strong technical background in high-voltage electrical systems, extensive field experience, and the ability to manage complex commissioning processes.
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems are tested, commissioned, and handed over to the client on time and within budget, while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the commissioning of electrical equipment for substations and transmission/distribution networks, including transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and control systems. Develop, review, and execute detailed commissioning plans, test procedures, and risk assessments. Provide technical expertise during the commissioning phase, troubleshooting and resolving issues to ensure smooth system operation. Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure all systems meet design specifications and regulatory requirements. Oversee the training of junior engineers and technicians and ensure all documentation is completed accurately. Monitor safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance throughout the commissioning process. Report on commissioning progress, conduct performance tests, and provide technical support post-commissioning. Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Experience in Testing and commissioning high-voltage equipment and systems for substation and transmission/distribution projects. Strong knowledge of electrical protection, control systems, and testing methodologies. Proven ability to lead commissioning teams and manage project timelines. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. NSW regulator authorisation licence advantageous.
