Senior Manager – Strategy and Development Reporting to the General Manager, this role will be accountable for leading the development of long-term growth strategies to maximize the potential of Dugald River, focusing on innovation, technology and transformation.
As the Senior Manager - Strategy and Development, you will coordinate and support the delivery of short-term site initiatives and strategies to drive continuous business improvement across all areas of the operations. An influential and capable people leader, you will oversee the Mine Technical Services and Geology functions to provide expert support to Mine Operations and develop the exploration potential of the Dugald River site.
This role is available on a variation of an 8/6, 4/3 roster. The role is available on a drive in, drive out basis (DIDO) from the Cloncurry or Mount Isa Districts or FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane. Relocation support is available to an approved commute location where required. An attractive additional incentive is available to employees who live or move into the Cloncurry township. Qualifications highly desired; An undergraduate qualification in a resources-related discipline, a Queensland SSE notice and continued education in leadership development, business management and continuous improvement. Competencies & knowledge highly desired; Extensive experience in site operational leadership in one or more of the following functions in the resources industry: Mining Operations, Processing, Asset Management, Operational Excellence. Significant experience in the management of people, budgets and programmes of work. Demonstrated experience in achieving business outcomes in complex environments. Extensive knowledge of effective management and leadership tools, techniques and methods. Contemporary knowledge and application of operational planning processes and Theory of Constraints. Some of your key responsibilities will include; Develop, coordinate, and implement growth and innovation strategies and work programs to maximize the potential of the Dugald River asset. Collaborate with the Dugald River leadership team, Australian Operations support function managers and group functions, to establish operational objectives, tactical plans and improvement initiatives. Determine department objectives, formalise and cascade plans, and manage performance against plans. Oversee the management of Mine Technical support (Geological and Mine Engineering Technical Services), site-based IT support and business improvement functions. Lead operational and generational transformation of Dugald River technical and support operations through investigating and optimising ways of work, including technology, flexibility and resource planning. Accountable for the management and quality of the weekly and monthly reporting requirements while continuously developing site data reporting systems. Provision of site leadership as an alternate site senior executive, as required.
