The role will build the FIC portfolio oversight framework with the aim to align overall portfolio outcomes to investment processes, anticipate issues and provide proactive advice to drive performance.Key responsibilities include:Enhancing the portfolio oversight framework for FIC to improve understanding of positioning, risk and outcomes vs expectations and support a culture of ongoing review, assessment and continual improvement;Working with the Head of FIC to act as a trusted advisor and first point of contact for portfolio oversight activities regarding performance, risk and positioning across portfolio strategies and as a total portfolio;Overseeing and managing centralised reporting across portfolio strategies and as a total portfolio. This includes portfolio performance, exposures and risk data and managing supporting systems, processes and stakeholders;Evidencing outcomes that align with the portfolio oversight framework. Developing and owning process for creating evidence and providing stakeholder assurance. This will include assessments of the performance of investment strategies as required and building an aligned internal process to support these assessments;Chairing the FIC Portfolio Oversight Group to drive effective challenge when outcomes do not align including being responsible for ensuring agreed actions are taken;Championing process enhancements and capability (new/existing) development;Sourcing insights from external experts to drive continual portfolio or process improvement as relevant.What You'll NeedExtensive experience working within an institutional investment manager(s);Experience in FIC research, risk or portfolio management;Strong understanding of investment principles, risk concepts, and portfolio construction, with specific reference to FIC markets and instruments;Ideally, experience in using Aladdin for portfolio management, construction, risk, attribution etc;Strong quantitative skills (programming skills in Python would be an advantage);Superior tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance or a related field;Relevant post-tertiary qualifications in finance or risk (eg CFA, PRM, Applied Finance);Exceptional problem solving and quantitative skills;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Life at AustralianSuperAustralianSuper is committed to colleague development, and we support our people with ongoing learning, coaching and training, as well as career opportunities across our expanding global organisation.
