Fixed Term opportunity until October 2025 with possibility of extension and / or permanency About the role As a Senior Labour Relations Advisor in Private Sector Labour Relations, you will be part of a small team working on the development and implementation of the Government's industrial relations policy priorities. You will be responsible for providing information and strategic advice to the Government on labour relations issues and working on reform projects for the state industrial relations system.
You will also be actively involved in gathering information on contemporary labour relations issues at the state and national levels, undertaking high-level research on state employment laws, participating in matters in the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission, and developing comprehensive information for clients on industrial relations topics.
If you have demonstrated experience in preparing written advice on labour relations issues, along with a proven track record in developing strategic responses to issues, this is an excellent opportunity for you. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are crucial for liaising with diverse stakeholders, and a sound knowledge of labour relations legislation and issues is a key requirement.
Private Sector Labour Relations is part of DEMIRS Corporate Services and Labour Relations Group, responsible for shaping and implementing labour relations policy and legislative reform. The Division strives to be a proactive regulator to achieve compliance with state employment laws while also assisting private sector employers and employees to better understand and meet their workplace rights and obligations.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.
This role is located at 1 Adelaide Terrace , a landmark building situated at the eastern gateway to the Perth CBD.
