RoleLead the administration of activities relevant to the operations of the Melbourne CKC and nominated regional locations, including planning, and organising circuits.Oversee the activities of the County Koori Court Officer.Lead continuous improvement activities of the CKC in Victoria by assisting the Manager and Koori Court Officer with stakeholder engagement, community consultations and events.Provide cultural support and advice to Koori offenders and families involved in the Criminal Division of the County Court.Represent the County Koori Court in local forums such as the Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee Network (RAJAC} and the Local Aboriginal Justice Action Committees (LAJAC) within nominated regional locations.Proactively build and maintain positive relationships and linkages between the County Court, the Victorian Aboriginal Community, and other key stakeholders.Provide appropriate advice to Koori Court Elders and Respected Persons on all matters concerning the Koori Court.
About You A sound knowledge of Victorian Aboriginal culture, society, and an ability to communicate effectively with Victorian Aboriginal people.Demonstrated experience in providing culturally sensitive support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants.An appreciation and sensitive approach to the needs and aspirations of Victorian Aboriginal communities.Knowledge of the Victorian Justice system, particularly related to Koori Justice, solution focused courts, and therapeutic jurisprudenceExperience with administration of courts.
