Pacific National (PN) is the largest private provider of diversified rail freight services in Australia. We operate nationally with approximately 3,500 staff in over 90+ sites across Australia.
An outstanding opportunity has presented itself for an Internal Auditor to join our team based in our North Sydney head office or one of our other locations around Australia.
About the role Reporting to our Head of Internal Audit, you will be responsible for performing operational and process audits for Pacific National across various business groups. The Internal Auditor will assist the business to achieve its business objectives and to improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
Key responsibilities include: Implement the approved Audit Plan by leading and conducting end to end internal audits Manage, coordinate and undertake consulting and advisory engagements as requested by the business Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to build a positive assurance culture across the organisation Provide expert audit advice and support to leaders to continuously improve processes and risk management outcomes Communicate findings, recommend improvements and verify resolution of corrective actions in a timely and accurately manner Our internal audits range in scale and scope and you will have touch points across our operations and corporate teams. You will have responsibility managing a variety of audit projects across the whole of business from start to finish.
Who are we looking for? The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in a similar role with the confidence to lead internal audit projects and as required present to all levels of the organisation. You will have a curious mind to unpack the why and collaborate with your stakeholders to drive best practice and continuous improvement outcomes.
In addition, will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:
5+ years' experience of internal or external audit Demonstrated experience in internal auditing within a complex organisation Excellent understanding of auditing rules and regulations Relevant industry experience in rail and logistics is highly regarded The benefits At Pacific National we value diversity, inclusion, and the contribution of each team member.
