The Opportunity
Cochlear is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to review, recommend and implement methods, layouts and resources required in the manufacturing areas with the view of improving conditions, efficiency and flexibility.
The Senior Industrial Engineer is also responsible for resolving production issues and problems as they arise in a collaborative effort with the Manufacturing Manager and all support staff.
This newly created role is a permanent full-time role based in our global headquarters in Macquarie University and Lane Cove site.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct assessment of all manufacturing areas for potential efficiency improvementsRecord and maintain manufacturing process data, including cycle times and OEEMap processes (including Value Stream Map, SIPOC and Spaghetti Map)Suggest process and system improvements through the application of Lean toolsBuild and present business cases for improvements quantifying cost and benefit of different optionsWork with internal stakeholders to prioritise and direct continuous improvement activitiesDefine metrics or displays that will assist manufacturing (visible schedule, first pass yield or others)Amend processes, storage locations, staff structure to promote efficient utilisationDraft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to promote maximum efficiencyAbout You:
