Location: Various locations throughout NSW
Employment type: Talent Pool Creation – Ongoing and Temporary opportunities available
Salary: Clerk 9/10, $120,859 to $133,183 plus employers' contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Are you a HR professional with a strategic mindset and a passion for fostering positive workplace cultures? The Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) is looking to create a Talent Pool of talented Senior HR professionals to fill temporary and ongoing vacancies across our divisions to lead impactful HR initiatives.
Your role As a Senior HR Advisor, Business Partnering, you will leverage your extensive HR experience to provide high-level strategic support to managers at all levels, in various business units across various agencies within DCJ, such as Corrective Services NSW, Courts, Tribunals and Service Delivery (CTSD), Law Reform and Legal Services (LRLS), Homes NSW, Child Protection and Permanency, and/or Corporate Services.
You will be instrumental in driving HR best practice, managing complex HR issues, and leading HR initiatives that align with our strategic objectives. In addition to providing strategic advice and anticipating and addressing potential industrial risks before they arise, some of the key focus areas for this role will be leading:
Change management advice and support. Diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism initiatives. Operational and strategic workforce planning. Resolution of workplace issues (grievances). Performance development, and management of underperformance and unsatisfactory performance. Develop initiatives to improve workplace culture. Support the implementation of the Annual Performance Management Program. Organisational and role design. Complex case management. Our roles are flexible with hybrid working possible. Travel throughout the Sydney Metro Region and/or across NSW may be required to provide onsite advice and support to our clients.
What We're Looking For In addition to meeting the essential requirements outlined in the role description, we are looking for someone with:
Qualifications in HR or a related discipline, and/or equivalent experience. Experience in a HR partnering role, preferably within the public sector or large, complex organisations. Strategic HR experience, including experience developing and implementing HR strategies that align with organisational goals and drive continuous improvement. Stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to develop strong partnering relationships with all levels of management to influence, coach and become a trusted advisor. Change management and organisational design experience. Management experience and/or a willingness to lead, develop, coach, and provide ongoing support to direct report/s and clients. (Note, not all roles will have direct reports). A people-centric approach to complex case management. Effective communication with the ability to present on a range of HR topics to promote and support workforce strategies. A collaborative style who can work with a range of stakeholders from different areas of the organisation to provide sound holistic advice. Demonstrable understanding of legislative requirements and employee and industrial relations. HR systems experience, with the ability to research and analyse information to make recommendations.
