About the OPPORTUNITY We have a new opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team based at Flinders Street, Adelaide, reporting to the Accounting Manager. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight. As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be the go-to-person for financial accounting queries by internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: Act as a 2IC to the Accounting Manager – Financial Accounting Managing and reviewing lease accounting processes and contracts Prepare and present on annual statutory accounts to Statutory Directors & Officers Managing external audit requests and end-to-end planning for timely lodgement Preparation of technical accounting positions for review internally and by external auditors Plan and conduct annual training for area to all applicable Finance staff and other functions as required Provide guidance to the junior team members About YOU You will have: Demonstrated Experience in Financial Accounting and audits Degree qualification in relevant field and a CA or CPA qualification Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to take ownership of task and embrace change Strong stakeholder management skills with high level of personal integrity, initiative and motivation Experience leading a group of professional staff to ensure they provide a quality service that meets specified accounting and reporting requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
