How you'll make a difference: The Senior Executive Director, Operational Support and Improvement Policy, will provide executive leadership and management of a program of work that supports the health and community care system to provide safe, high-quality and person-centred care to all Victorians.

The role reports directly to the Deputy Secretary and will have close working relationships with the Secretary of the department and the Minister for Health. The Senior Executive Director will also be expected to lead a group of enabling functions to deliver on the division's strategic priorities. These relate to people and culture, ways of working, and internal performance and insights.

The role will lead a team of executives and directors and will oversee the development of policy reform and implementation across the health and community care system, with a strong focus on vulnerable cohorts. It will also be responsible for providing policy advice and implementing reforms that support the effective operation of Victoria's health and community care system.

The role will engage with colleagues across the division and department, as well as stakeholders and experts within and beyond government, including service providers, the workforce, consumers and carers throughout policy development and problem solving.

Are you: An experienced and outstanding leader of people at a senior level who is passionate about improving Victoria's health and community care system to deliver the best possible outcomes for people? Able to provide strong leadership to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to build shared commitment and coordinate implementation? Able to lead, sustain and influence key relationships internally and externally? Recognised for your expertise in leading and delivering change in complex environments and for your deep understanding of the Victorian health and community care system? Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate: A high degree of understanding and knowledge of the Victorian health system, relevant departmental systems and environments and the ability to build increased capability in others. Senior experience in public health at state or national level. Knowledge of contemporary approaches to health system demand and capacity management and response, and its role in the wider context of government policy and reform priorities.
