I am delighted to be working with one of the largest global renewable developers who are looking to add to their highly successful energy markets function.
As a Senior Energy Market Analyst, you will play a crucial role in shaping their market strategies and optimizing their renewable energy projects across the National Electricity Market (NEM) in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct in-depth analysis of energy market trends, pricing dynamics, and regulatory changes within the National Electricity Market (NEM) in Australia.
Utilize comprehensive knowledge of energy market fundamentals to forecast electricity prices, demand patterns, and market behaviour.
Develop and maintain sophisticated models to simulate market scenarios and assess the financial viability of renewable energy projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project development, finance, and regulatory affairs to support decision-making processes.
Monitor and evaluate competitor activities, market risks, and opportunities to formulate strategic recommendations.
Provide insights and recommendations to optimize asset dispatch, trading strategies, and revenue generation from renewable energy assets.
Prepare and present clear, concise reports and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
Key Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience as an Energy Market Analyst, preferably within the National Electricity Market (NEM) in Australia.
Proven expertise in energy market analysis, including knowledge of electricity market structures, regulations, and market participants.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques; experience with market modeling software is a plus.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to influence decision-making and drive results.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
