Senior Director, Strategic Communications and Engagement

Details:
The Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate are responsible for communicating to Canberrans on planning, environment, heritage, and climate change matters on behalf of the ACT Government. The Communications, Engagement and Media branch within the Directorate are a full-service branch responsible for this task. Within the branch, the role of the Strategic Communications and Engagement teams is to provide advice and work on key priorities within these themes. The Senior Director is responsible for all planning and environmental projects within the portfolio. The successful candidate will need to actively showcase their experience in engagement techniques to reach target audiences and engage with the Canberra community on these topics. Experienced communications professionals should apply, noting their experience within these themes and their abilities to engage, consult, and increase awareness of key priorities.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
Relevant qualifications in communications, marketing or similar are preferred.
Training and experience in engagement is highly desirable, including training in IAP2 principles.
Notes:
Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office-based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
