Manager/Senior Manager, Business Transformation & Transactions, Sydney (mid-level role)Our growing Business Transformation ("BT") team in Sydney is seeking a dynamic Manager/Senior Manager (the internal title will be Director/Senior Director) with 6 to 10 years of professional experience in commercial & financial due diligence, performance improvement and strategy development.
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our practice, working with a diverse range of clients to deliver on the execution of the various engagements. Our BT team of experts work with corporates and private equity firms, including portfolio companies of private equity firms, and other key stakeholders to support value creation efforts, optimise growth and operating costs and manage event-driven change, often in challenging or accelerated situations. Our services include strategic and business planning, profitability improvement (both cost-out and revenue enhancement), data & analytics, merger integration and carve-outs, pre-deal commercial and financial due diligence, and interim management support.
The team also works closely with and provides BT support to the practice's Restructuring and Insolvency team, which provides comprehensive solutions in informal restructuring and advisory engagements, along with formal insolvency matters such as voluntary administrations and receiverships, across a breadth of industries and businesses of all sizes.
What You'll Do As a Director/Senior Director with 6 to 10 years of experience, you will collaborate with our clients and internal project teams across the entire company lifecycle in domestic and multinational companies across a variety of industries. In the role, you will:
Serve as a critical senior team member to help deliver and manage one or multiple workstreams and engagements, with responsibility including directing the client team, delegating tasks, handling all elements of executing, managing the FTI team, and helping manage the client relationship on each assignmentManage various engagements and work directly with clients and FTI Consulting ExecutivesLead due diligence mandates, including commercial and financial due diligence mattersDevelop performance improvement projects (e.g., cost-out plans), assist with strategy development, and design organisational structuresDevelop and/or review financial and cash flow modelsConduct merger integration planning and executionPerform industry and company research and assist in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other partiesLead program management office ("PMO") and implementation support roles for special situations engagementsHelp mentor and train junior staff, on and off projects, and provide internal thought leadership on various industry topicsPrepare presentations, reports and quantitative exhibits for clients and third partiesNetwork and build internal relationships with members of the BT team and other FTI Consulting service areasHow You'll Grow This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to join a market-leading team, build on their technical knowledge and work across a broad range of industries and mandates. Qualifications & Experience 6-10 years of relevant experience in a consulting, professional services firm, or combination with industry experience in a similar roleAbility to manage specific deliverables, work streams, and junior staffProven track record of leading and delivering successful client engagements in a consulting environmentProficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and full MS Office suiteStrong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skillsAbility to work with big data sets to conduct research and analysis on products, markets, competitors and customers to identify risks and opportunities, draw conclusions, and effectively communicate and present dataStrong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience in a leadership role, with a focus on team development and mentorshipApart from the well-structured career path and excellent team environment, our employees enjoy a variety of perks and benefits.
