Senior Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our clients team and ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our clients database systems.
Note: Hourly contract role through to June 2025
Key Responsibilities: Design, install, and manage large-scale corporate databases.Ensure the security and confidentiality of data by implementing and maintaining robust access controls.Install, configure, and manage database software and related tools.Develop and execute high availability and disaster recovery strategies.Perform regular backups, recoveries, monitoring, tuning, cloning, scripting, patching, and upgrades.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to foster effective working relationships.Handle daily operational tasks and participate in project work as needed.Participate in a rotating on-call roster, including after-hours and weekends.Experience: Extensive experience working with enterprise databases.Proven track record in designing, installing, and managing large corporate databases.Expertise in database security and access controls.Proficiency in installing, configuring, and managing database software.Strong skills in developing high availability strategies, performing backups/recoveries, and database monitoring.Experience managing a diverse range of stakeholders.Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM methodologies is desirable.Experience supporting Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB with Galera Clusters, or other enterprise databases..
