You will work closely with internal teams and external government clients to deliver and maintain robust database solutions.
As a Senior Database Administrator in our Digital Services team, you'll make a positive impact by: Managing the design, implementation, and maintenance of Oracle and MS SQL databasesEnsuring database security, backups, and recovery procedures are in placeMonitoring and improving the performance of Oracle and SQL database serversOverseeing high availability and disaster recovery processesLiaising with external vendors and clients for seamless operationsProviding on-call support and troubleshooting as requiredSerco is a place for you To be successful in this role, you'll have: A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experienceProven experience with Oracle and SQL Server database administration in a medium to large organisationOracle Database Appliance and Oracle KVM Virtualization experience would be an advantageProven expertise in IT operations with a deep understanding of database architecture, principles, and best practicesExtensive experience managing database administration tasks including backups, recovery, refreshes, sizing, performance tuning, and securityProficiency in PL/SQL, T-SQL, and Oracle/Red Hat Linux server administrationExpertise in High Availability and Disaster Recovery, including Oracle Data Guard and Always On Availability GroupsAt Serco, you'll be part of a global company that values diversity, collaboration, and innovation.
