About the Role Join our Energy's dynamic Cloud, Data, and Analytics team as a Senior Data Scientist. In this role, you will be pivotal in developing and providing analysis, insights, and AI/ML models to support various business units within AGL. Our team is dedicated to driving high-quality decision-making, process improvement, and value creation through the creative and efficient application of data science techniques.
Some of Your Responsibilities Include: Extracting value from AGL's data through data mining, cleansing, enrichment, and model development.Proactively identifying opportunities to resolve business challenges using data science techniques and effectively communicating these opportunities to stakeholders.Engaging with stakeholders to take briefs, manage expectations, and communicate the outcomes of analytics model development.Collaborating closely with architects, junior data scientists, and other ML developers to deploy models and analytic insights into operational environments.Supporting ongoing organizational capability development and continuous self-improvement.Working with machine learning engineers to transition experiments to production builds.About You: Over 5 years of experience in data development and business intelligence, with professional certification highly regarded.Strong background in a quantitative discipline such as Analytics or Statistics, with postgraduate degrees being a plus.Proficient in analytics toolsets, scripting languages, and data platforms, with Python being essential.Expertise in machine learning and predictive modeling methodologies, with specialization in at least one data science domain.Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.Skilled in CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (e.g., Github, Azure DevOps).Excellent time management, presentation, communication, and influencing skills.Tertiary qualification in a numeric or technical discipline, or demonstrated experience in delivering analytical support and driving data-led outcomes.What we offer: Flexible working options including hybrid work.Discounts on energy, telcos and solar plans.Participate in Energise - our reward & recognition program.Access 20 weeks of paid parental leave for the primary caregiver.Access to an additional week of recharge leave per year.Play an active role in our diversity & inclusion initiatives.Novated leasing and Electric Vehicle subscriptions.Access to study assistance, AGL's share purchase plan and insurance deals.*Benefits may change over time and vary based on role type and location.
