All applications to consist of CV, Cover Letter and address Selection Criteria to progress to shortlisting.The Senior Practitioner provides daily practice support in the area of sexual violence and delivers a range of trauma-informed services, including individual counselling and advocacy, community engagement, and group work, to children, young people, adults, and their non-offending family members or carers who have been impacted by sexual violence.The Senior Practitioner role also involves specified responsibilities in providing day-to-day support to the Team Leader and clinical staff of Gympie-based services. Additionally, the position requires development and maintenance of collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders.Organisational EnvironmentLaurel Place Inc. is funded by The Department of Child Safety, Seniors, and Disability Services as well as the Department of Justice and Attorney General. Laurel Place is governed by a Board drawn from the local community. The service employs almost 55 staff across four locations in Maroochydore, Gympie, Murgon as well as Moreton Bay.The service provides a range of therapeutic support services to women, men, children, young people, families and the community that work towards reducing the impact and incidence of sexual, domestic and family violence.Laurel Place also provides specialist education, training, information and resources to other professionals in the field.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide daily practice support and information to clinical staff, collaborating as needed on complex client presentations.Assist the Team Leader with site management and relevant administrative tasks as required.Assist the Team Leader to ensure the collection of statistical data by all staff is accurate and relevant and includes an analysis of key themes and trends.Remain up to date with the latest sector needs, legislation, policy and practice guidelines in responding to sexual violence.Liaise with community and sector networks and develop appropriate collaborative partnerships with relevant services and agencies.Provide a range of therapeutic interventions to adults, young people, and children (and their non-offending family/supporters) who have experienced sexual violence.Support clinical staff in the provision of a range of therapeutic and educational responses to service users, including children and young people who are engaging in harmful sexual behaviours.Provide relevant information and resources to service users and other stakeholders as required.Participate in training, case planning and team meetings for service staff.Assist Team Leader with data collection and reporting requirements.Selection Criteria (required)Tertiary qualifications in social/behavioural sciences and extensive experience working with clients who have been impacted by sexual violence, or similar.Demonstrated understanding of the gendered nature of sexual violence and its impact at both an individual and societal level.Demonstrated experience providing trauma informed therapeutic interventions and support to adults and children, and their non-offending family members and carers/supporters.Demonstrated experience in supporting clinical staff with complex case presentations, and oversight of day-to-day operations.Demonstrated capacity to support and promote a positive and professional team culture.Demonstrated ability to establish relationships and respond to the needs of people from diverse backgrounds including; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds; as well as people who have a disability.Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, in particular well-developed skills in relating and responding to clients and others contacting the service.If you feel you are the right person for this position and would like to work within an organisation that values their staff and invests in your professional development, please email your CV, Cover Letter and addressed Selection Criteria to: ******.Applications close 9am Wednesday 23rd October 2024.
