In this key role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the Council's strategic property plan, ensuring the effective management of council-owned land and facilities in alignment with the Moonee Valley 2040 (MV2040) strategy. You will oversee the leasing, licensing, acquisition, and disposal of properties, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and policies.Reporting to the Manager – Property and Assets, you will manage a dedicated team of property professionals while driving continuous improvement initiatives and managing change within the property management framework. A core focus will be engaging with internal teams and external partners, including government bodies, community groups, and commercial clients, to ensure collaboration and maximise the value of Council's assets. You will provide expert advice to the Executive Leadership Team, lead property-related transactions, and negotiate commercial partnerships, such as joint ventures, ensuring community and commercial benefits are achieved.The ideal candidate will have significant experience in leading property management and strategy, particularly in significant property portfolio and diverse facility assets settings. Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, continuous improvement, and change management is essential. Tertiary qualifications in Property, Asset Management, or a related field are preferred, and experience with strategic asset management, contract negotiation, and commercial partnerships will be highly regarded. Strong leadership, financial and commercial acumen, and excellent communication skills are essential, as well as a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and property management frameworks.
