How you'll make an impact: As a Senior Communications Manager reporting into our Director of Communications, you will be a proven and passionate people leader – comfortable working with diverse team members and focused on helping them do the best work of their lives.
In this business-critical role, you will work closely with multiple stakeholders including our ANZ leadership team as well as Xero's global functions.
You will be a strong advocate for the Australian business and communications function as you support the company in reputation, issues, and crisis management.
This role requires creativity but also a strong commercial understanding and the ability to align PR/communications activities to underpin business goals.
You'll be excited about new and emerging PR/communications tactics and keen to experiment.
What you'll do: Ensure the Communications Director has full visibility of plans, metrics, and any issues of key relevance to the business and ANZ leadership team Act as the people leader to one direct report, a Communications Advisor Lead the day-to-day management of Xero's local PR agency Manage the development and execution of high-profile PR and thought leadership campaigns aligned to supporting the company's GTM objectives Provide support to the Communications Director for executive communications and reputation/issues management Manage relationships with stakeholders within Australia and across Xero globally, ensuring the delivery of effective communications Provide support to the Communications Director on internal communications activities for the AU business Be a key contributor to the management of AU Communications budget What you'll bring with you: 8-10+ years' experience in communications and public relations Proven excellence in developing communications strategies for large, high-profile organizations, with technology experience Experience in crisis/issue management Track record of establishing credibility with executive teams Experience in people leadership with the ability to lead through passion and enthusiasm An understanding of the small business sector and/or accounting/bookkeeping industry Highly skilled experience across the disciplines of communications planning, media relations, organic social, and content development The ability to motivate and manage direct and indirect teams across multiple functions #J-18808-Ljbffr
