We are excited to introduce a brand-new team at Transurban - Road Experience, Operations, Assets and Corporate Development - with a core focus on delivering excellent on-road experience and operational efficiency across all Australian markets.
This newly created role will sit within the Commercial area of the team and will contribute to meaningful change by strengthening the on-road experience of customers and driving financial value through efficient and effective commercial management of the core assets within the portfolio.
About the role Transurban operates 18 toll road assets in Australia, including 184 km of open road and 65 km of tunnels, generating $5.2B in toll revenue. Known for their safety and instrumentation, these assets require top-tier management.
As a senior leader in the Australian Commercial team, you'll guide a dynamic group of commercial and project specialists, driving innovation in our Incident Response and Maintenance (IR&M) services. Be at the forefront of an exciting transition to a new, integrated operating model, where your impact will shape the future of our organisation.
As the Senior Commercial Manager, you will drive the integration, alignment, and commercial performance of IR&M services across these assets. This role will lead a dedicated team to enhance IR&M services, focusing on strategic planning, operational efficiency, and stakeholder value.

Day-to-day, you will: Collaborate with our Commercial Leadership team to communicate a compelling strategic vision, strategy, and plan. Develop and implement the IR&M Strategy for Transurban's Australian road assets. Optimise the IR&M delivery and commercial model to achieve higher quality outcomes, enhance operational efficiency, and establish improved value for our customers and stakeholders. Lead IR&M go-to-market strategy and tender development, evaluation and award and integration processes in conjunction with relevant business units. Work collaboratively with Road Operations and Experience, Maintenance and Optimisation functions to drive alignment on IR&M needs and commercial optimisation opportunities. Partner with Transurban's Road Operation and Experience and Maintenance teams to ensure strategic thinking is reflected in day-to-day decision-making. Support the Commercial Senior Leadership Team in the delivery of strategic projects. This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including: Experience leading projects or programs, preferably in infrastructure or a related field. Proven experience building strong relationships in compliance and regulatory environments, showcasing the ability to navigate complex situations effectively. Demonstrated experience leading high-performing teams and adapting through change. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to stakeholders. Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline. If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.
