The Role One of Sydney's best known, and largest hospitality group is seeking a Senior Commercial Analyst to join its Head Office in the CBD. You will be responsible for the delivery of timely, accurate and robust reporting to support business decision making.
The role will be to partner with key stakeholders to support growth and play a key role in the transformation of the Finance function and positively contribute to the brand and culture of the team.
You need to be confident with technical knowledge, have a hands-on approach, the ability to communicate with a range of people across the business and be self-motivated to drive outcomes.

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, key responsibilities will include:
Supporting the transformation of reporting by establishing a reporting strategy and roadmap with considerations for systems and processes. End-to-end processes for annual budget setting including planning, guidance, timetable, templates, reporting and ongoing reforecast. Providing leading reporting frameworks to enhance venue and portfolio insights enabling the communication of lead indicators. Reengineering of reporting processes and systems supporting business growth. Support the embedment of visualisation tools such as Power BI and data management tools such as Power query. Engage and collaborate with the business as a trusted advisor to support strategic and operational priorities through financial analysis, insights and recommendations. Provide support to the Financial Control & Reporting team where needed including performing month-end activities e.g. reporting, preparation of journals, and completion of necessary checks to ensure accuracy of financial information. Work as part of the broader Finance team playing an active role in ad hoc projects and initiatives. The Essentials To be successful in this position, you will also have the following skills, knowledge and attributes:
5+ years post degree experience. Big 4 or complex corporate environment advantageous. Ability to drive improvements in systems, processes, and procedures. Strong technical skills including knowledge of current accounting standards, financial modelling and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Excellent communication, financial storytelling, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, influence at various levels Advanced proficiency in software and tools such as Excel and PowerPoint Experience in reporting platforms such as Power BI & Power query preferable but not essential.
