Seeking highly motivated, organised and experienced Senior Cabinet and Parliamentary Officer in the Cabinet and Executive Services Unit – Strategy, Insights and Advisory within the Department of State Development and Infrastructure.

The Cabinet and Parliamentary Services team is a high performance, customer focused and innovative team operating in a fast-paced environment.
The position will report to the Manager, Cabinet and Parliamentary Services and undertake business tasks to support the progression of Cabinet, Parliament, Executive Council and executive correspondence.

The Strategy, Insights and Advisory (SIA) business group within DSDI coordinates all key matters across the Deputy Premier's portfolio responsibilities and all touch points between the Deputy Premier's office, the department and portfolio entities.

As Senior Cabinet and Parliamentary Officer in the Cabinet and Executive Services Unit you undertake business tasks to support the DSDIP and the Deputy Premier's office in the progression of Cabinet, Parliament, Executive Council and executive correspondence.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate the following skills and experience:


Assist the Manager through the provision of high-level specialist support of activities in relation to Cabinet, Executive Council and Parliamentary Services and other Government business.Coordinate and critically examine Cabinet material, Parliamentary briefing material, responses to Questions on Notice and other documentation for the Deputy Premier's attendance at Cabinet/Parliament.Coordinate and critically examine Governor in Council material, and all briefing material for the Deputy Premier's participation in Governing from the Regions.Coordinate other briefing material including tabling of Reports, preparation of Governor's and Premier's briefs and Ministerial trip briefs in a timely and effective manner.Providing efficient and effective administrative support services by adopting modern business practices with a variety of software and document management systems, including the use of the Cabinet Information System (TCIS).Liaison and negotiation with a wide range and different levels of departmental staff to achieve qualitative and performance standards.Maintain knowledge of Government policies, procedures and processes including the Cabinet, Legislation and Executive Council Handbooks, when preparing Cabinet, Parliamentary and other Government business.Ensure the secure storage, handling and dissemination of Cabinet and Parliamentary documentations within the Department, in compliance with relevant departmental and Government-wide guidelines. The Strategy, Insights and Advisory (SIA) business group is responsible for the following functions:

» strategic policy, including macroeconomic oversight, intergovernmental and whole-of-government policy matters and complex internal policy requiring coordination and collaboration

» marketing, communications, and media

» cabinet and parliamentary services, ministerial and executive services, and the Office of the Director-General

» strategic advice and oversight of commercial transactions, complex projects, business intelligence and performance management.
