IPA is partnering with Housing Hub to hire a Senior Back End Engineer. The Housing Hub helps people with disabilities find suitable housing while supporting the disability housing market. The website lists thousands of properties across Australia, fostering an online community where housing seekers and providers collaborate to offer choice and control. With a focus on training, resources, and NDIS support, the Housing Hub is dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to live dignified, independent lives.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Back-End Software Engineer to join the purpose-driven team. This role focuses on back-end development, including API integrations with Salesforce, within a DevOps environment. As a key member of the development team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, efficient, and secure backend solutions that support the continuous growth of the website.
Key responsibilities: Maintain accurate documentation of system architecture and associated systems. Update with changes and website extensions. Undertake planning and execution of website changes following business requirements documentation from the Digital Product Manager. Back-end development and testing of all new website features. Implement new/modify existing APIs between the website app and Salesforce. Configure Stripe as ecommerce requirements change or new products are introduced. Integrate new website features into existing platforms including Salesforce, Algolia, and Segment. All back-end deployments including setup and maintenance of development pipelines. AWS configuration, containerisation, and ongoing server maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and scalability. Implement security controls at the infrastructure and application levels to protect against threats and vulnerabilities. Implementation of security patches and fixes as identified both internally and through third-party testing. Streamlining and optimising existing software development lifecycle to improve team efficiency, productivity, and delivery speed. Code reviews and knowledge sharing with existing front-end website developer, gaining understanding of code approach and ability to cover periods of leave. Foster a culture of collaboration and communication within the development and digital team promoting collective problem-solving. Qualifications: Degree or other relevant qualification in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. At least three years' experience in a software engineer role specialising in web backend systems and API development including: Custom Salesforce integrations and APIs. AWS and server maintenance. React and NodeJS. Working with and consuming RESTful APIs. BitBucket and version controlling. Database administration. Experience with Algolia, Segment, Contentful or other Headless Content Management System (CMS) is desirable. Experience with DevOps, including deployment pipelines and efficiencies, development collaboration, and monitoring system performance. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices to ensure the security of backend systems and APIs. Experience in the for-purpose sector is desirable.
