Our Health Service is expanding and so is our Work Safety and Wellbeing Team!
As the Senior Advisor Work Safety and Wellbeing, you will provide advice and support to people leaders and staff regarding work safety risk and wellbeing in accordance with legislative and corporate obligations.
Temporary Full-time opportunity for 12 months with possibility of extension.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide team leadership in the area of Work Safety and Wellbeing including hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigations, and safety assurance through the development and continual improvement of strategies, programs, and initiatives designed to ensure an effective safety management system is in place and support a culture of safety at WM.
The role will support the implementation, reviewing, and reporting on work safety and wellbeing responses and strategies, policies, guidelines, procedures, and networks consistent with Departmental and Health Service policy and contribute to the effective development, management, and delivery of professional work safety and wellbeing service throughout West Moreton.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated experience in the delivery of safety management services, including developing and reviewing policies, systems, processes, and effective management and monitoring of safety risk assessments, investigations, and programs and services within a large diverse organisation. Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying legislation, policies, and risk management relevant to safety and injury prevention in a large complex organisation. Proven capacity to assist in the implementation of safety management initiatives including coaching and developing capability of staff and managers, particularly in the areas of safety, by fostering a performance-based and customer-focused work culture. Demonstrated organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise competing demands and achieve results within a customer-focused approach. Demonstrated interpersonal, analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, evidenced by the ability to engage and collaborate, facilitate work groups, analyse and interpret information, prepare reports and work in a multidisciplinary environment maintaining effective working relationships with customers and stakeholders to deal with challenges creatively and achieve business-focused outcomes. Demonstrated experience in workplace health and safety auditing, investigation, problem solving, and identification of risks and causative factors leading to flexible, responsive, client-focused solutions related to safety and injury management issues.
