We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor – People and Performance to join our People Services team. This role provides professional guidance and advice; undertakes case management (including grievances, complaints, and alleged misconduct); supports the implementation of the Reef Authority's enterprise agreement, policies and procedures; and supports managers in the development and implementation of a diverse range of workforce strategies and processes, including performance and behaviour management.The Senior Advisor – People and Performance works closely with internal clients to build understanding of business needs and champion ongoing process and capability improvements, and works in close consultation with other areas of People Services to facilitate streamlined service delivery.The key duties of the position include:Provide specialist HR advice (including interpreting and applying the enterprise agreement, HR legislation, and policy), evidence-based recommendations, and guidance to supervisors and Reef Authority employees.Build and maintain positive relationships and confidence with clients, stakeholders and peers to influence and deliver consistent, supportive, professional, and contemporary HR services.Undertake case management including performance management, misconduct, and workplace conflict/dispute resolution in accordance with relevant requirements, and support less formal frontline responses.Undertake or oversee workplace enquiries and reviews in accordance with legislative and other requirements, including report writing and delivery of outcomes.Enhance supervisor capability through training and guidance to support agency performance and behaviour expectations and develop individual and team effectiveness.Prepare high quality briefings, reports, and correspondence, including responding to reviews of action.Contribute to, and support, the ongoing improvement of the internal systems, processes, and work practices of People Services.Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and contemporary HR practices including keeping abreast of developments and changes in APS employee and industrial relation matters.EligibilityIn order to succeed in the role, you will:Have at least three years' experience in a similar position.Have highly developed written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to prepare complex material, including formal letters and briefs of evidence.Have demonstrated ability to effectively engage with conflict and resolve difficult situations.Have demonstrated ability to conduct research and fact-finding enquiries to draw conclusions and make evidence-based recommendations and findings.Demonstrate commitment to action and have proven ability to deliver on intended results.Have well developed interpersonal skills and work collaboratively with others.Have well developed analytical skills and an eye for detail.Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage workload and competing priorities in a busy team environment.Applicants must:be an Australian citizen at time of applying for position;be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance, failure to do so will result in termination of employment;be willing to provide identity documents and undergo an identity pre-employment check through a Document Verification Service, if you are deemed to be the successful candidate.NotesApplicants must read all the information outlined in the position description.To find out more about working for the Reef Authority, including how to apply, for tools and tips on applying for a position, visit the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority careers page.
