Senior Advisor, People & Culture Policy Clerk Grade 9 /10, Ongoing, Full-time 35 hours per week (Talent Pool to be created)People Services, People & Culture, Department of Customer Service4PSQ Parramatta or Gosford or Sydney McKell location (travel required between these locations)Salary Range:?$120,859 - $133,183 + super
Provide technically accurate and strategic specialist advice, expertise and support on a range of corporate People & Culture (P&C) policy initiatives and lead projects to develop and deliver all-staff P&C policies and procedures. Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders and subject matter experts, facilitating their engagement in, and contribution to, the identification and development of P&C policy solutions and to inform policy decision-making. Prepare policy and procedure documentation and communications plans for all-staff consultation and liaise with relevant unions and/or other relevant staff representatives to meet the legal requirements of industrial instruments and/or safety legislation Develop and sustain a comprehensive understanding of current issues, policy requirements, insights, challenges, trends, and best practices. About the Opportunity: Due to innovation and growth?in the People & Culture Division?at the?Department of Customer Service,?we have an exciting and new opportunity for Senior Advisor, P&C Policy to join our?high-performing?and progressive?People Services team. Our Department's People & Culture Policies cover a broad range of corporate policies, including the DCS Flexible Working Policy, the Positive and Productive Workplace Policy, the DCS Prevention of Sexual Harassment in the Workplace Policy and the DCS Health Safety and Wellbeing Policy and related Procedures.
This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively within a centralised Centre of Expertise function, in which you will work with your immediate team, and subject matter experts across People & Culture and the broader Department to develop and review People and Culture policies and procedures aligned with NSW public sector directives and legislative requirements. Your work will include releasing the draft policies for consultation with all-staff, unions and any other group under consultation requirements, and reviewing the feedback received to finalise the draft policy for approval and implementation.
You will research, analyse and review complex P&C policy issues, identify emerging issues, develop evidence-based options, and recommend solutions, as well as regularly engage in forums and other activities to keep abreast of trends, policies, legislation and strategies.
About You: To be successful in this role you will possess a great blend of skills, including:? Knowledge and understanding of applicable industrial and employment law and/or work health and safety legislation Tertiary qualifications in one or more of the following fields: Human Resources, Industrial Relations, WHS, or Law or in a related field and/or equivalent demonstrated experience A customer-centric?and growth?mindset with strong decision-making skills as well as an excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
