About the role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director, People and Culture is responsible for providing strategic leadership and support to the Senior Executive and University across all aspects of the people lifecycle within the organisation.
The Director, People and Culture will lead and support the Vice Chancellor and the Senior Executive team with significant change and transformation initiatives aligned to UNE's business strategy.

About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the role with extensive experience in industrial relations, workplace health and safety and or human resource management or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Proven expertise in the strategic leadership of human resources of a large and complex organisation including leading workforce planning, strategic human resource policy development and service delivery aligned to organisational objectives.
In depth knowledge of current trends in contemporary human resource management and national and state legislative regulatory and compliance requirements.
Skilled at driving change and transformation.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and high-level experience in consultation, negotiation and conflict resolution.
Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor teams and build stakeholder relationships.
About People and Culture
The People and Culture Directorate is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that focus on enabling our people to create an engaging and high-performing work culture that delivers an outstanding higher education experience to our students.
The Directorate is focused on working in partnership with Faculties and Directorates to deliver strategies, quality services and projects through a number of primary functions; these include:
Recruitment Workplace Relations, Health, Safety and Wellbeing Payroll, Benefits and Support Organisational Development Workforce Planning and Change Management.
