Community Operations provides strategic oversight, governance and support to regions in the delivery of probation and parole and custodial services in Queensland. Community Operations is responsible for developing and monitoring performance standards for the delivery of probation and parole and custodial services throughout Queensland through key functional areas of operational practice and governance compliance and risk.
The Senior Advisor provides advice and assistance on operational activities and strategic directions for Community Corrections.
In this role you will: - Undertake environmental scanning on issues and trends impacting Community Corrections
- Demonstrate a high level of understanding of contemporary offender management issues, trends and practices including the management of warrants and orders, assessment, risk analysis and planning.
- Provide advice, support and training to staff on evidence-based best practice, in line with established frameworks for offender management.
- Monitor the quality of offender management and operational activities, identify relevant trends and issues, and develop strategies to improve the quality and consistency of Community Corrections operations.
- Undertake research and analyse operating practices in Community Corrections offices
- Support the implementation of the Agency's performance framework and mechanisms
- Work with senior managers to align organisational strategies to improve performance measurement, evaluation, and reporting practices
- Assist in the preparation of reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, publications and correspondence
- Ensure the timely provision of advice to relevant staff and other key staff and stakeholders regarding business operations
- Action requests by senior managers and advise the field on administrative protocols
- Provide a strategic analysis of variations and trends in organisational performance for the Assistant Commissioner, Community Corrections and Deputy Commissioner, Community Corrections and Specialist Operations
- Collaborate with other business areas within QCS in order to achieve strategic outcomes
- Assist senior leadership to develop operational plans for Community Corrections
- Maintain a high level knowledge of QCS activities and provide direction and advice to staff in regions when required
