This position provides strategic and tactical medical advice and expertise for the ANZ organisation. The job holder will be expected to know and develop close contact with Thought Leaders (TLs) in Australia/NZ within the defined disease areas. A significant component of the role will focus on customer interactions. The role will be accountable for the delivery of the strategic medical plan and contribute to the overall Brand Plan.
Through TL contacts and insights, it will facilitate the direction for medical and scientific communication and initiatives that will enable greater confidence in our data; address data gaps and ultimately help to provide better medicine access for patients. The position will need to work effectively across several different stakeholders. The role will ensure strong medical governance and effective collaboration across business functions.
Delivering Medical Affairs & Scientific LeadershipTo maintain, and continuously update and develop, clinical knowledge and experience in relation to Ipsen's products and therapy areas, such that business opportunities are recognised and developed.To provide a scientific duty of care and ensure the benefit/risk of Ipsen's products is understood and remains appropriate with customers.To lead, coach and develop people.Drive operational excellence and deliver on performance metrics for medical field activity and programs.Deliver non-promotional programs/education in field and training.To provide expert opinion and, when appropriate, training for internal and external customers on relevant products/devices and therapy areas.To maintain regular and frequent contact with TLs in ANZ, and to build contacts with international TLs. To act as a medical ambassador in representing Ipsen's medical position with these customers and with associated medical organisations.At least 40-50% time spent on customer interactions and/or in-field activities.To provide medical expertise and proactive input into the generation, review and approval of promotional and education materials and activities in compliance with Ipsen SOPs and Industry Codes of Practice.To contribute to the establishment and implementation of a three to five-year strategic plan for the Business Unit that is integrated with the mission, strategy and values of the Ipsen Group and delivers on the ANZ Group objectives.To provide medical and scientific input and review of the Australian affiliate's clinical trial programme to ensure that the aims, objectives, and actions of proposed studies, Ipsen sponsored or investigator-led, are clinically robust and relevant.Review, input and approval of trial documentation, including protocols, case report forms, clinical trial applications and contracts, together with result output and study reports as required.Assist with Medical Information and pharmacovigilance enquiries as needed.Contribute to patient centricity initiatives.To ensure accurate financial phasing and accounting for portfolio with oversight from the line manager.Ensure effective collaboration and ways of working with the Brand Team.Contribute to the new product/indication launch process (as needed).Driving Medical Governance & ComplianceTo ensure all the above activities are conducted within the framework and full compliance of the national regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Ipsen SOPs and Company policies, health and safety requirements and Industry Codes of Practice.In conjunction with other medical staff, help prepare, understand, and comply with all relevant SOPs and Codes of Practice, and ensure that the ANZ affiliate staff are trained and aware of such standards when required.Contribute effectively to the Medical Governance Committee & GDC.Embed the Quality culture principles and SOPs (as relevant to the role).Role Model for LeadershipTo support a cohesive, high performing team to ensure that high standards are consistently maintained across the entire medical department and ANZ business.To (when requested) be a medical lead in the design, implementation and development of specific departmental procedures representing standards of operation that cross the Australian Business.To work with colleagues from other areas of the business to build proactive, effective cross-functional communication and collaborative ways of working across ANZ and the Ipsen Group.Live and be a role model for the Ipsen Way of Being.Knowledge, Abilities & ExperienceEducation / Certifications:
Medically Qualified or PhD or BSc/MSc.Experience:
5+ years pharmaceutical industry experience in a similar or related role (i.e., not a total of 5 years experience in industry alone; must be a similar or related role).Knowledge/expertise in Ipsen core disease areas or related TA's.Demonstrated medical field or MSL experience with HCPs.Knowledge of, and current training in, GxP (e.g., GCP; GVP).Strong demonstrated understanding of the drug development and reimbursement process.Excellent organizational, communication and influencing skills.Demonstrated business & financial acumen.Demonstrated Medical Affairs experience.Ability to work in a matrix organisation.Demonstrated promotional review expertise.Training (internal and external) stakeholders. #J-18808-Ljbffr
