Due to our ongoing growth and new projects, we are seeking an experienced QA/QC Weld Inspector (FIFO) to join the Saunders International team on project site at Kalgoorlie, Western Australia .
The QA/QC Weld Inspector will be responsible and accountable for the following:
Undertake verification and inspection of materials. Ensure approved project specific WPS's and PQR's are available for all welding activities. Ensure welding equipment is in suitable condition for welding activities and safety requirements. Ensure weld preparations are in accordance with drawing/WPS. Prepare and update welder qualification records including conducting welder qualification tests when necessary. Ensure welding consumables are as specified in WPS and are stored / controlled as specified in QC procedure. Ensure welders are working in accordance with essential variables nominated in WPS. Inspect all welding related activities including weld preparations, preheat and inter pass temperatures, welding parameters are within WPS requirements, visual and dimensional inspection and completion of inspection reports. Prepare NDE requests and maintain Weld Register, ensure percentage NDE is undertaken as per ITP. Ensure adequate supplies of welding consumables throughout project. Ensure ITPs are being followed and sign off of ITP's as required. Pre deployment testing and inspection of all Auto welding units (EGW, AGW, LT7, Buggo etc). Maintaining inventory of Auto spares/consumables. Provide training, mentoring and monitoring of welders to ensure compliance rate does not drop below 98%. Set up and testing of Auto welders and identification of all items that need repair/servicing and/or attention. Management of repairs/servicing and updating historical records for each Auto welder. Assist Quality team with the preparation of ITP's and undertaking sign off for various checklists. Assisting Quality team with the preparation of MDR's. Carry out supplier/contractor welding inspections. Comply with all of Saunders' policies. Engage in training activities to improve skills. Assist welders with site specific activities as directed. Assist to develop, promote, and increase the business activities of the company wherever possible. Ensure equipment remains in good working order at all times. Perform additional duties within scope and experience as and when required. ABOUT YOU Welding Inspector qualifications ie IWS or WTIA Welding Inspector. AS 1796 Cert 10 Supervisor qualifications are also acceptable for this role. Experience in Power Station Outage / Turnarounds involving AS4014. Have a C Class Car Licence. HSE Induction/White Card. Valid Confined Space Entry Ticket. Valid Work at Height Ticket. Able to communicate effectively within your team, and with other staff. Be a self-starter and be able to work unsupervised. Ability to respond to a changing work environment. Internal Audit Qualified. EWP ticket. External/Lead Assessor Qualified. NACE Painting Inspector. Experience in tank building industry.
