Your work will enhance the availability of services that provide crucial medical care and support for survivors, while also contributing to public health solutions that address gender-based violence, sex trafficking, and other forms of trauma.What You'll Do:Lead and Manage the Program: Oversee all aspects of the Statewide Forensic Nurse Coordination Program, including strategic planning, budget management, contract oversight, and program evaluation.Support Forensic Nursing Services: Ensure access to specialized forensic nursing training, create centralized resources for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE), and track SANE services across Washington.Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with hospitals, victim advocacy programs, and state agencies to address barriers to SANE services and improve access to forensic care.Drive Survivor-Centered Care: Use your leadership and expertise to enhance trauma-informed practices, coordinate statewide training efforts, and develop resources that improve the experience for survivors.Supervise Staff: Provide oversight and mentorship to two nurse consultants, ensuring the team is equipped to meet the program's goals and deliver exceptional service.Location and FlexibilityWe value work-life balance and offer remote work with occasional in-person collaboration. This is a home-based position available to applicants in Washington State, including those near the Oregon and Idaho borders. Required in-person attendance and meetings throughout the community are infrequent and scheduled in advance. Monthly staff meetings are optional to attend in person, but annual section-wide trainings require in-person participation. This role can be performed from home or the nearest DOH facility.Required QualificationsOption 1: Five (5) years of program management experience in a government agency or public health, injury and violence prevention, or health services-related field.OROption 2: Bachelor's degree or higher in public health, healthcare administration, public/business administration, or a related field; AND three (3) years of experience in a government agency or working in public health, injury and violence prevention, or health services-related field.ANDTwo (2) years of experience in gender-based violence prevention/intervention, which may include working on initiatives to prevent or respond to gender-based violence including providing technical guidance on policies and procedures, identifying service gaps and proposing improvements, or integrating trauma-informed practices into gender-based violence prevention/intervention program delivery.Three (3) years of experience in the following:Partner engagement and group facilitation: Leading collaborative efforts by building and maintaining partnerships, initiating discussions to align efforts and address challenges, and facilitating group discussions or workshops to guide decision-making and achieve successful program implementation, evaluation, and actionable outcomes.Developing tools and materials: Creating clear, concise, and accessible resources such as training manuals, step-by-step guides, toolkits, and informational packets to support program implementation, streamline procedures, or enhance understanding of program services.Managing complex projects, including developing work plans, setting timelines, coordinating resources, and tracking deliverables to ensure successful project execution.Preferred/Desired Qualifications:Two (2) years of experience managing contracts, including developing statements of work, overseeing budgets, and ensuring compliance with federal or state funding priorities, particularly in healthcare or forensic nursing contexts.Two (2) years of experience working with SANE programs or hospitals/ER departments, improving access to sexual assault exams and addressing barriers to service delivery, such as helping create or sustain SANE programs in emergency departments.Public health experience in a gender-based violence prevention program, coordinating training, facilitating multidisciplinary teams, conducting hospital assessments, and integrating trauma-informed practices.Experience in sexual assault forensic exam infrastructure, focusing on administration, oversight of key components (e.g., training and resource distribution), and providing trauma-informed services to survivors.Experience collaborating across sectors, working with law enforcement, advocacy groups, legal systems, and healthcare professionals to ensure alignment with public health standards, funding requirements, and survivor-centered approaches.APPLICATION DIRECTIONS:To apply, click "Apply" and complete the application.
