Opal have built a leading-edge corrugating and converting facility located in the Wodonga region at Barnawartha. Our brand-new facility is a 47,000m2 manufacturing site dedicated to the production of corrugated fibre packaging.
Discover the Opportunity
Responsible for driving the implementation of H&S policy, systems and procedures and monitoring compliance. The role monitors compliance, ensures recommendations are reviewed and implemented with site management, and provides advice and support in accordance with the relevant Workplace Health and Safety legislation and Opal standards.
You will contribute to the success of Opal by:
Implementing the Opal H&S systems and measurements, in line with the Opal WHSMS and corporate Policy at responsible sites Monitoring the use of H&S systems and measurements and initiating corrective action to ensure compliance Providing information and guidance to operational and functional management to optimise H&S systems and measurements Actively participating in the implementation of H&S plans for the sites in conjunction with operations management teams Monitoring the implementation of H&S plans and ensuring time frames are adhered to Providing input to business units for the development of an H&S budget Ensuring H&S costs remain within budget We are able to offer a varied career journey with experiential learning gained from cross-functional and lateral moves. Specifically for this role, we expect you will have:
Tertiary qualification in OH&S preferred Strong regulatory knowledge specific to manufacturing environments In-depth knowledge of health & safety management systems Proven record of success within a manufacturing or industrial environment Proven, positive experience in dealing with and managing regulators Experience in successfully driving a culture of continuous improvement Strong interpersonal relationship skills For more information, please contact Gemma Whale on or 0403 124 391 or jump right in by sending us your CV.
