We now have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator, to champion operational excellence, and play a key role in our transformation program.
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, as the Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator, you will manage the day-to-day functions of Safety, Wellbeing, Corporate Emergency Management and Child Safety. You will provide expert guidance on occupational health and safety, workers' compensation, and policy development; supporting our leaders in promoting a strong safety culture and managing workforce wellbeing for the City of Melton.
Key responsibilities will include: Provide technical advice on occupational health and safety, injury management and wellbeing issues including the interpretation of policy and legislation.Injury management - Oversee Workers Compensation functions and wellbeing program.Provide coaching and guidance to enhance People Leader Capability to respond to incidents and injuries and enhance safety and wellbeing outcomes.Oversee the management of child safe incidents by ensuring a clear response and reporting framework.Provide regular reporting to committees and working groups.Set up and support project governance frameworks.To contribute to your success in this role you will have: Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to positively lead, inspire and empower others, drive high performance, and to develop and coach a team.A strong understanding of legislation and frameworks that govern employer responsibilities for Occupational Health and Safety, Injury Management and Child Safety.Experience in successfully applying contemporary safety and wellbeing practices across a large and complex organisation.Experience in conducting complex and sensitive incident investigations.Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills, combined with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality reporting.A systematic and methodical approach to safety and risk management with a strong focus on detail.Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills.A Degree or diploma in business or a related field with relevant work experience, or substantial relevant experience in a similar role or a related field is required, as is the understanding of, and ability to interpret and advise on safe work systems, policies, and legislation.
