The position of RMTS Ambulance Officer is responsible for:

Providing a level of clinical care and make patient assessments within their agreed scope of clinical practice.
Responding to request for low acuity care and specialised transportation of patients within their allocated responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Practice:

Provide customer-focused and professional service delivery
Foster a positive work culture based on SA Ambulance Service values
Perform effective and timely operational clinical practice



Clinical Knowledge:

Complete workshops, assessments, and assignments to achieve authority to practice
Continuously develop clinical competencies, knowledge, and confidence
Perform patient assessments, formulate provisional diagnoses, and provide treatment



Resources:

Assess and apply resources and services required for ambulance practice
Apply knowledge of available resources for appropriate patient treatment

Legal and Ethical Requirements:

Act with integrity, respect, and accountability
Apply non-judgmental conduct and maintain medical confidentiality



Community Care:

Develop an understanding of the requirements of special needs groups
Cooperate and work with other medical professionals as part of an integrated community health system



Occupational Health, Safety, and Welfare:

Comply with OHS&W and Workers Compensation legislation requirements
Work safely, follow safe work procedures, and report hazards and injuries
