About the role
An opportunity has become available in the Customer Operations team as a Risk Specialist.
The Risk Specialist is a subject matter expert in effective risk and issue management with responsibility for working across Customer Markets to ensure proactive management of operational and strategic risk, effective escalations of issues and supporting business units to meet compliance obligations.
The Risk Specialist will work with the Risk Manager to champion a positive risk management culture within Customer Markets, proactively supporting the business to identify and mitigate risk.
The team is also responsible for Remediation Governance.
What you'll be doing: Establishing, managing and continuously improving risk and issues frameworks across Customer Markets, in accordance with AGL's Risk and Compliance management frameworks.Driving an effective risk and compliance culture within Customer Markets.Providing practical and pragmatic advice to the business to improve maturity of risk governance and culture.Implementing operational risk and issues management frameworks and approach for Customer Markets, proactively working to embed the principles and objectives of AGL's Risk Management and Compliance Management Frameworks.Participating in risk workshops for business as usual and project activities as required.Responsible for the accurate and timely documenting of risks and issues, based on clearly defined criteria.What you'll bring: Experience with compliance and risk management in a dynamic business environment.Broad business knowledge and demonstrated ability to understand and communicate the balance between risk and commercial outcomes.Work collaboratively with our people at all levels across the organisation.A demonstrated willingness and ability to take ownership and accountability of decisions and advice.Excellent interpersonal skills, with high quality written and verbal communication skills.At AGL, we offer a wide range of benefits including: Flexible working options including hybrid work.Discounts on energy, telcos and solar plans.Participate in Energise - our reward & recognition program.Access 20 weeks of paid parental leave for the primary carer.Access to an additional week of recharge leave per year.Play an active role in our diversity & inclusion initiatives.Novated leasing and Electric Vehicle subscriptions.Access to study assistance, AGL's share purchase plan and insurance deals.*Benefits may change over time and vary based on role type and location.
