About the Role As a Risk & Compliance Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with these international tax regulations, providing expert advice, and implementing effective strategies to mitigate risk and enhance transparency. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Transparency Advisor to join our team, specialising in the Common Reporting Standards (CRS) and the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA). Role Location: 80 Ann Street, Brisbane QLD 4000 (preferred) / Sydney and MelbourneRole Type: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours/week) What will your day look like? As a Risk & Compliance Advisor, your accountabilities include: Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with CRS and FATCA regulations by developing, implementing, and maintaining robust compliance frameworks and processes.Reporting and Documentation: Oversee the collection, validation, and reporting of data required under CRS and FATCA. Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to relevant tax authorities.Advisory Services: Provide expert advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on CRS and FATCA requirements, updates, and best practices.Risk Mitigation: Identify potential compliance risks and implement strategies to mitigate these risks. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance.Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on CRS and FATCA requirements and compliance procedures.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities, financial institutions, and industry groups, to stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices.Policy Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of company policies and procedures related to tax transparency and compliance.What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, CFA) is highly desirable.Proven experience in tax compliance, with a strong focus on CRS and FATCA. Experience in a financial institution or multinational corporation is preferred.In-depth understanding of CRS and FATCA regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting standards. Familiarity with other international tax regulations is a plus.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex regulations. Proficiency in tax compliance software and data analysis tools.Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently. Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of integrity in all compliance activities. You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
