SALARY: $1880.86 - 2155.33 pw + Super

Are you an enterprise risk management specialist looking to make a meaningful impact? Camden Council is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Risk and Assurance Advisor.
You will play a crucial role in supporting enterprise risk management in a diverse organisation, as well as providing assurance to stakeholders at all levels and assisting with claims management.

Essential:

Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry experience in risk management, control assurance, internal audit, or a related field. Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in supporting the development, implementation and organisational support for integrated risk management, control assurance, and business continuity. Comprehensive knowledge of internal control design, implementation, and assessment. Familiarity with internal and external audit processes, and ability to support and implement audit recommendations. Detailed knowledge of relevant risk management standards, guidelines, and legislative requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex information and develop effective risk mitigation strategies. Proficiency in using data analytics tools to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple projects and tasks with flexibility and adherence to deadlines, ensuring high attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting, particularly in risk management and control assurance projects. Demonstrated ability to provide advice, support, and communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, utilising strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with both internal and external parties. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing clear and concise reports and presentations, and conducting training sessions and awareness programs on risk management and control assurance topics. High level of integrity, proactive and self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team, effectively manage conflicting priorities, committed to continuous improvement, and proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated competence in risk assessment and implementation of risk management policies, with strong investigative, research, and reporting skills, the ability to act confidently as a subject matter expert and maintain confidentiality.
Desirable:
Experience in Local Government or public sector. Experience in motor, Public Liability and property claims management. Experience with risk management and control assurance software tools.
To meet Council's WHS requirements and in accordance with Council's Covid-19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs.
