Relationship-based care;Engaging young people in therapeutic processes;The critical emotional skills;Assessments understanding the repeating patterns and meaningful contradictions; andTherapeutic conversations that create possibilities.About The Role: The Residential Youth Worker supports a team of like minded individuals under the supervision of a Care Coordinator, to provide stability, consistency and security for the children and young people in our care. 
This role requires the capacity to work day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays.
About You: The ideal candidate will be able to:
Demonstrate high levels of resilience, patience and unconditional positive regard whilst confidently working with challenging behaviours. Act as an appropriate adult role model, seeking to engage children and young people in purposeful activities aimed at developing life skills and self-worth.Embed strong practice frameworks into daily habits.Provide detailed written reports with the online tools provided, following policy and legislative requirements whilst maintaining full confidentiality. Support the involvement of family and significant others and promote positive relationships.Engage with stakeholders within the community to support the development of children and young people.Provide the essential needs for the children and young people.Be able to support children and young people with complex needs and disabilities.Encourage independent living skills including but not limited to, cooking, meal planning, budgeting, shopping and cleaning.Work both autonomously and as part of a care team. Essential Criteria Hold, or be working towards, a Certificate IV or higher in Youth and Community Services or related field (or willing to enrol – for candidates seeking a career change)A current blue card (or willing to obtain).Open Driver's license.LCS clearance obtained within the last 2 years (or willing to obtain). Possess strong personal values including; integrity, dignity, compassion, diversity and excellence.Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills.https://www.csyw.qld.gov.au/resources/dcsyw/about-us/partners/licensing/minimum-qualification-standards-information-sheet.pdf
Preferred Criteria  Minimum 6-12 months experience working with children/ young people with complex behaviours, mental health, trauma backgrounds &/or disability.Experience working within Child Protection Residential Care Programs, with an understanding of the complexities that come with working in this environment.Experience attending multi disciplinary meetings and adhering to behavioural and safety plans as provided by external therapeutic specialists and stakeholders.If you are interested in joining the All Care Australia team, please submit your resume and cover letter with your application.
