Role Description The Reservoir Characterisation Lead is responsible for leading a multi-discipline team of Reservoir/Petroleum Engineers and Geoscientists to conduct detailed reservoir studies and analysis to optimise future development plans and minimise the cost of supply of future activities across all of the APLNG operated upstream assets.
These activities support current development and operations for APLNG's upstream assets including maximising production and delivering operational cost reductions to optimise cost of supply, while ensuring safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities include: Overall accountability for all aspects of reservoir characterisation for operated APLNG assetsProvide leadership and guidance to a team of Reservoir/Petroleum Engineers and Geoscientists, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration with the Production Engineering, Integrated Planning and Drilling & Completions teams to ensure all deliverables are metAccountable for developing models for production forecasts for existing wells and future development packages including high and low side scenariosLead a multidiscipline team to identify, prioritise, and execute reservoir studies to inform future development plans and recommend pilot projects needed to derisk implementation of alternative approaches (e.g. well spacing studies, well completion types, surface equipment and gathering network designs to optimise future development plans)Owner of the reservoir simulation models for all assetsDevelopment of data acquisition plans to inform reservoir modelling, production forecasting and evaluation of pilot projectsCultivate strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, effectively communicating complex technical information including preparation and delivery of TCM (Technical Committee Meeting) presentation material to APLNG shareholdersSupport assessment of reserves and resources including classification and documentation for assigned field(s)Engage, develop, and coach team members to create a high performing team environmentLead by example and role model Origin values, leadership habits and health, safety and environment behaviours, actively implementing change initiatives to support the deliver asset and IG strategy and outcomes, and ensuring a culture of continuous improvement and innovationComply with any relevant legislation, codes of practice, policies and standards that may applyAbout you You will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to coach, develop, and hold their team accountable for meeting deliverables. Your superior time management and work prioritisation skills, combined with flexibility and personal accountability, make you a standout leader committed to driving success and achieving organisational goals.
15 years of Oil and Gas industry experience, working as a Reservoir Petroleum Engineer or GeoscientistExperience supervising, guiding, or mentoring a multi-discipline technical teamExtensive technical knowledge of subsurface disciplinesExperience in analytical and simulation reservoir modellingKnowledge and experience in production forecasting and field development planningExperience in using economic analysis to evaluate development and optimisation projectsThorough understanding of coal seam reservoir geologyFor more information, please contact Bronwen Franca - 0738670157, quote Requisition ID 87142 or apply now.
